CYCLUS TOOLS chain wear tester with scale for various chains, including SRAM Flattop.

The CYCLUS TOOLS chain wear tester quickly and reliably determines the right time to change the chain. If a worn chain is not replaced with a new one in time, the gear shifting will deteriorate. In addition, pinions and chainrings wear in prematurely and must also be replaced.

The chain wear tester uses two measuring fingers to measure the chain rollers on the inner plates, each on the same side. This means that the measurement result is independent of the roller size and roller play. All 1/2 inch chains, including SRAM AXS, can be measured.

A third finger tensions the chains using a spring. This means that the objective measuring process is not influenced by the personal strength of the user when inserting the measuring fingers. The degree of wear is then displayed on a simple scale. The "Stop" display means = 1% elongation of the chain.

Most bicycle chain manufacturers recommend replacing the chain when the chain elongation reaches the following levels:

0.5% (11-13 gears)
0.75% (9-10 gears)
1% (all other chains)

Worn out chains need to be promptly replaced, otherwise the life of the drive train components (cassettes, chain rings) can also be decreased as well.

Put on the trousers and put the suspenders and the bottom of the leg in place so that there are no creases, the feeling once the shorts are worn must be of slight adherence.
Keep the shorts on for a few minutes by bending your legs, and getting into bike position, then try to pinch the fabric in the thigh area and if once the fabric is released the Lycra returns to its position then you have tried the suitable size to you.
If, on the other hand, you feel an unpleasant sensation of rubbing or constriction, or if the seams or the straps are too tight, try the higher size.
